Wait WHAT? I seriously did a new comic? WHAAAAAAT?

That’s right! Inspiration hit and given the PERFECT timing (and having the time) I just HAD to make this happen!

I still can’t believe that police design is straight out of AOSTH, incidentally. I have SUCH a nostalgic love for that cartoon, and it had a HUGE impact on me as a kid.

This comic straight up started by me jokingly going “I wonder what Maria would look like in the AOSTH art style”, drawing it after coming home from a Christmas party Friday night, and then having a free Saturday night unexpectedly to further play with this idea as it grew in my head. I’m rather proud of how I localized GUN to get past hypothetical Standards and Practices, that said – as yeah no way that would have gone into a cartoon aimed at the younger set.

Anyway, everyone go enjoy Sonic 3! I know I will be!

Next comic status update: still a-drawing it

Yeah. Still a bunch of work to do on this one. Largely because a) it took me a bit to crack the direction b) longer panel count
If it’s done in the next 24 hours, it’ll be a “technically still Friday” release. If not it’ll go up Tuesday and I’ll scramble to get a Friday strip up too that week. And somehow find time for Legends Arceus too, ideally.

I need to take some time to throw together a “next expected update” widget…

And we’re already running late

Turns out that when you go “hmmm; if I clip the original ending for this strip I can probably still time and it’ll still work fine”, sometimes you then finish the art, take another look, and go “well crud, this DOES need another panel or two after all.”

Anyway hopefully I can wrap this tomorrow (today) once I’m done work and meal prep; working with Clip Studio for drawing comics is definitely still in the teething stages of “nailing down my workflow/rebuilding all my reference assets from scratch/figuring out how long it takes to make one of these things.” Some definite pluses though over my old process of drawing it all in Flash; I’m in love with the results so far.

Importantly though I’m making content again and having fun doing so, so there’s that!
