Tweet Titans Forever – Code & Eruvy

Also getting a redesign tweak in the new Tweet Titans comic was Code. His original design gave him a long trenchcoat – a feature which inspired his dark-colored redesign. Further, the costume also informed personality – namely, some sort of mashup between Rorschach and every awesome iteration of Batman (which would be all of them; most notably the Kevin Conroy and Diedrich Bader iterations).

Interestingly enough, looking back at the color version it’s clear I made a few simplifying design departures from what I’ve drawn here when I did all my new pages, plus added in sunglasses rather than regular glasses – probably just to amp up the whole mysterious badass factor.

Eruvy, meanwhile, I don’t have much to say about. She’s a dragonkitty, and her design went unchanged from the original, save for a bit of simplification here and there. Given I’ve got barely anything to say about her, the Eruvy post’s going here.

Tweet Titans Forever – Invy

Especially since I’m now providing color, I think it’s probably pretty obvious that Invy’s online namesake also inspired a BT Toons continuity character.

Like Stormy, Invy was based off one of the TFA Jet Twins originally in her outfit – namely, Animated Jetfire. Given my intent with the redesign was to have her no longer actively crimefighting, her design got changed to something far more casual.

Given her namesake also dabbled in RPing one of the Insecticons at the time, I figured I’d work that into the redesign, making an Insecticon-inspired jacket decowise. The shirt sans jacket (in the art anyway) features a Scraplet – something that I’m pretty sure the final drawn design doesn’t actually have, given that sort of detail is tricky to work in without cluttering up a design.

And as for the headband, well something needed to replace goggles.

Tweet Titans Forever – Stormy

So, sorta prompted by some comments on Twitter, and thinking about how it’s sorta a travesty that I haven’t shown these yet, I figured I’d post some of the actual Tweet Titans character concept art I used as a template for drawing all these.

So let’s start with the dramatic design reveal in today’s update – namely, that of Stormy’s redesign.

Now, like all the Tweet Titans concepts, Stormy’s original design was based off of the persona/appearance/avatar of her online namesake – thus, the original design used her TFA Jetstorm-inspired outfit that I adapted for the character model.

But coming back to drawing these characters a year later, I figured I’d take advantage of my planned “team is broken up” backstory and do some concept redesigns. In Stormy’s case, this consisted of giving her an outfit inspired by Quorra’s in Tron: Legacy, given her namesake also happens to be a big Tron fan.
