As for tiny details in this sucker, the FredCo News producer is loosely modeled after Joel McHale. Because its a several-degrees-from-separation Newsroom joke, and I love insane tangential stuff like that.
Also, Tom Anchorman sounds remarkably like Peter Mansbridge. One could say that he looks to be based on the appearance of Canada’s own Sam the Eagle lookalike.
And one would be correct in saying that.
